We, at Divon, come from a diverse background- interior design, portraiture, black & white artistry, graphic design, video, sound; coveting the highest standard in all our work- our aim is to capture all the special moments at your wedding naturally as it un-folds.

The Divon style is timeless, classic, and intimate because we value sentimentality, and we believe that the sentimental is priceless.
Your wedding is more special than you may realise, it’s uniquely yours- that means it’s a one in a life-time opportunity for “us” to capture. We approach each wedding with as much care and passion as we would our own.

We’ve been working together since 2008, previously known as Beani Photography, and since then we have become one of Sydney’s renowned photography studios. We’re extremely proud of the progress we’ve made together, all the people that we’ve met along the way and the relationships and support that we’ve gained. From Team Divon, sincerely thank you.

Meet Franky

Founder / Photographer

Why did you decide to become a photographer/videographer?
I am always a visual person, I’ve been doing graphical works for my whole life. My uncle gave me my first camera when I was 8, since then taking photos had become a huge part of my life.

What is your favourite thing to photograph?
Portraits! I’m fascinated by human faces and bodies. I love bringing my creative ideas to life and that has allowed me to win both national and international awards for my portraiture works.

Would you say that you’re an Artist?
Yes I would like to think so, as most of my awards are under fine arts category.

What’s your favourite leisurely activity?
I travel a lot. I promised myself I will go to at least one new city/country per year. I always travel alone, simply because I don’t have a schedule when I travel, everything just happen spontaneously.

You love doing Wedding sessions, does it ever get repetitive?
I believe all weddings are different and unique. I always try to pick up elements from my bride and groom and give them ideas to make their wedding more personal. Except for one repetitive action, I’ve never heard of anyone say “I DON’T” at the ceremony 😀

Do you mingle or do you dance?
I mingle, I dance like a robot, and trust me, you don’t want to see it…

What do you do, that you “must” do once a day?
Kiss my beautiful wife-to-be and tell her I love her

How do you like to eat your eggs?
Anyway, I love eggs, scramble, sunny side up, whole boil, but I must have it with salt together.

Would you go straight to the destination? Or take the scenic route?
Of course I’ll try to go with the scenic route if I have the luxury of time!

Are you a morning, afternoon, evening or night kind of person?
I always think I work faster, think better and more creative after the sun goes down.

Coffee or tea?
Large latte with 2 sugars and not too hot please.

If you could have a super-power what would it be and why?
Fly, I can then go anywhere whenever I wanted.

Meet Em

Studio Coordinator + Social Media Specialist

Why did you decide to become a photographer/videographer?
It keeps me engaged with the world in a creative way and simply because it makes me happy.

What is your favourite thing to photograph?
People and sunsets.

Franky: What about sunrise?
Me: Too early.

Would you say that you’re an Artist?
I’d say that I’m an Artist’s student.

What’s your favourite leisurely activity?
I get bored easily so it switches between reading, Chinese calligraphy and learning French and Korean. And I’m always up for brunch, a trip to the art galleries or a walk out in the nature or just stay at home play board games!

You love doing Wedding sessions, does it ever get repetitive?
Nope, each couple has their own story to tell.

Do you mingle or do you dance?
I mingle first and give the worst hugs then dance when the party is lit.

What do you do, that you “must” do once a day?
I must drink a cup of warm water first thing in the morning.

How do you like to eat your eggs?
Depending on my mood, either scrambled or omelette.

Would you go straight to the destination? Or take the scenic route?
I’d overcome my sleep cravings and allow myself extra time to take the scenic route.

Are you a morning, afternoon, evening or night kind of person?
I’m a night owl. You’d know because of my dark circles.

Coffee or tea?
Both! I need my morning coffee, an afternoon ‘pick me up’ matcha latte or green tea and my bedtime herbal tea.

If you could have a super-power what would it be and why?
Enhanced flexibility because I wish I could do the splits and also not have back pains.

Meet Kevin

Principal Videographer

Why did you decide to become a photographer/videographer?
I always liked visual art and have studied film and media.

What is your favourite thing to photograph?
Capturing moments most people would never notice.
That’s my favourite thing about videography.
I think…I express myself visually rather than with words most of the time; I ‘see’ better than I can ‘talk’ so videography makes life beautiful.

Would you say that you’re an Artist?
I would say “Yes”! Because we always capture life moments in creative ways.

What’s your favourite leisurely activity?
I love cinematography, so watching and dissecting movies.

You love doing Wedding sessions, does it ever get repetitive?
Each wedding has its own characteristics and each wedding is different from the one before. There’s always opportunities for innovation at weddings for the highlights.

Do you mingle or do you dance?
I will mingle, not dance.

What do you do, that you “must” do once a day?
Fueling the mind, and centering myself.

How do you like to eat your eggs?
The classic, sunny side-up.

Would you go straight to the destination? Or take the scenic route?
I will take the scenic route if time allows.

Are you a morning, afternoon, evening or night kind of person?
I am an afternoon and night kind of person because that is the working time for most weddings.

Coffee or tea?
Coffee.

If you could have a super-power what would it be and why?
Have the power to control time. If I wanted to do something without getting caught, I could just freeze time.

Power of Doctor Strange – time-bending so I can travel anytime anywhere.
