It all started with a smile in a local park.
Ian and Romana met during their final years of high school, thanks to a chance encounter through a mutual friend. Romana’s smile caught Ian’s attention that afternoon, and all these years later, it’s still one of his favourite things about her.
Their proposal came with a slightly less romantic starting time: a 3.30 am alarm! Remembering that Romana had always wanted to watch the sunrise together, Ian planned a trip to Blenheim Beach in Jervis Bay, the first beach they had shared. After an almost three-hour drive, they arrived just in time for the sunrise—and a very special question.
Their wedding day brought that love of the coast to Sydney’s Northern Beaches. Getting ready in Lindfield, Ian and Romana began the day with quiet moments before celebrating at Long Reef Golf Club, with the ocean stretching out behind them.
For their wedding portraits, we explored Davidson Park, swapping coastal views for peaceful water, bushland and a little wander together. From showing off their new rings to laughing along the walking tracks, these two were completely at home with each other.
That’s what we loved photographing most: the playful moments, the easy closeness, and that smile that started everything.
Congratulations, Ian and Romana. Thank you for having Team Divon capture your day!
