It was a typical day with editing until 1:40 PM when my phone rang with an urgent call from Megumi, a wonderful Japanese celebrant I’ve had the pleasure of working with many times. She was in the middle of a wedding, and the photographer had failed to show up! With the ceremony set to start in just 10 minutes at Eden Gardens Macquarie Park, I knew I had to act fast.
Without missing a beat, I called my wife to grab my gear and raced toward Eden Gardens. We arrived at 2:20 PM, and thankfully, I always keep my equipment charged and ready for action.
As I drove, Megumi messaged me with some troubling news: Cassie had never met the photographer before, and John was hesitant to tell her what had happened, fearing it might upset her. I understood his concern, but when I arrived, I asked John if Cassie was aware of the delay and the reason behind it. When he confirmed she wasn’t, I knew I had to step in. I explained that to achieve beautiful photos, honesty was essential. If Cassie didn’t know the truth, she might lose trust in the process, and ultimately, that could affect the happiness of their day.
In the end, after capturing their special moments, Cassie and John were incredibly grateful that I was there to save the day! It was a whirlwind experience, but it reminded me of the importance of communication and the magic of photography. 💖📸✨

✨ Caitlin + Brendan - A Wild Celebration at Dubbo Zoo ✨
Caitlin and Brendan's wedding was nothing short of extraordinary, held at the enchanting Dubbo Zoo. We embarked on a 14-hour round trip to capture their special day, and every moment was absolutely worth it!
The weather was a thrilling mix of rain, sunshine, and overcast skies, all in one day, creating a stunning backdrop for their celebration. We even had the chance to capture the galaxy’s beauty at night, adding a touch of magic to their already unforgettable day.
The wedding was a family affair, filled with joy and laughter, especially from the little ones. Caitlin and Brendan dedicated an entire table to the children at the reception, making sure they had a blast. Caitlin’s love for giraffes was beautifully reflected in her wedding theme, with a special giraffe tattoo on her arm. The highlight was when the zookeeper opened the gates for Caitlin to feed her favorite giraffe, making her day even more special.
And I must say, out of the thousands of weddings I've photographed, Caitlin's father, Mark, stands out as the most good looking father of the bride. 💖🌿👰🤵💃

We had an incredible time with Michelle for her maternity shoot at Ashfield Aquatic Centre! 🌊✨
Michelle, an exceptional free diver, brought such energy and grace to the water. This was just a warm-up; the real adventure will unfold at sea for the final shoot. Keep an eye out for the stunning images from our open-water session! 📸👶💦
Special thanks to Media Bay Studio to help out for the day, and Ashfield Aquatic Centre to let us to do the test shoot on their pool.
