A guide to creating a wedding timeline

When it comes to your wedding day, timing is everything – especially when it comes to capturing those precious memories through photography and videography. Here’s our guide to creating the perfect timeline for your special day:

Getting ready photos

One of the most memorable parts of the day is getting ready with your loved ones. These moments are filled with excitement, laughter, and even some nerves. We often say we can only photograph how you feel, and the emotions before your ceremony are different from those during the reception. That’s why getting ready photos are crucial in capturing the emotions and memories of the day.

First Look

A first look is a beautiful moment between you and your partner before the ceremony. It’s a chance to have a private moment, express your love, and capture some beautiful photos. This moment can also ease any nerves and allow for a more relaxed and enjoyable ceremony.

Ceremony

The ceremony is the most important part of the day, so it’s crucial to make sure you have plenty of time set aside for your wedding photographer and videographer to capture every moment. Plan to have them arrive at least 30 minutes before the ceremony begins to capture some shots of the venue and your guests arriving.

Bridal party and family photos

After the ceremony, it’s time to gather the family and bridal party for some group shots. We always try to do a big group with everyone, then brake down to smaller family and friend groups. These can take a bit of time, so it’s important to plan accordingly. Make a list of all the group shots you want and share it with your photographer ahead of time to ensure nothing is missed.

Location shoot

Time to have some fun with you two and your bridal party! We’ll go to different locations to capture some stunning photos that truly showcase your love and personalities. Be sure to allocate enough time if you want to visit more than one location, including travel time to the reception.
